Kyuubey isn't the last remaining member of his species. Even considering (canon) spinoff series like Oriko or Kazumi, there's at least three different Kyuubey-like creatures only monitoring Earth. Thinking back to his words to Madoka about entropy and farming humans like cows, you'll remember that he was only 'in charge of filling the quota of Earth'. In other words, he's basically just a miner of a huge resource extraction company. Definitely not the last member. Also, definitely not important at all. Also also: if Kyuubey has the power to transform Madoka's witch's excess energy into making Madoka transcend time and space, think about the power his bosses have... uh… Kyuubey isn’t the last remaining member of his species.
